We went out last night with Mya & Wally. It has been quite a few years since we saw each other. They just bought some land in New Mexico on the skirts of a mountain and are planning to retire there. They are in the process now of seeing how to get sustainable housing and most of all water up to their acreage. Mya's cousin, Sally, the gardening writer, has a million dollar home in the area. It is near Llama, NM, north of Taos. Can't wait to visit them there. I'm personally yearning for a good camping trip. Trying to get a tent and stuff together, since I know we'll not be buying another camper too soon. They are big canoe buffs and the Rio Grande River close by to their place too.

My 50th birthday party was Saturday, May 17. It was a great success because I had a blast! Finally, I can enjoy being the center of attention and it's so great to have the people you love and trust around you to celebrate. I'm really enjoying being alive. I feel strong and creative this time of the year, maybe, because it is the season when I came into the world. Lots of food, lots of cake and not too much champagne, just enough. Tammy, my sister-in-law prepared a chocolate fountain with lots of fruit and yummy bits. It was a hit. I think everyone enjoyed the party. The weather was perfect. We were able to be inside and outside and enjoy the cool of a spring evening with wispy clouds and an almost full moon.

Ooooo so many time periods to choose from...First thought was ancient Egypt, but I'd have to a rich noble. During a prosperous period. I don't think I could hack the poor peasant part. Ancient Rome during its heyday. Also would like to be well off. I don't think being a slave is very appealing...

My first car was a 1974(?) Pinto. It was a bomb waiting to go off as they had an exploding gas tank in a rear end collision. Luckily, I totalled it during a SIDE impact accident and was rid of it forever. Who would have known that was a lucky break? Heehee.

Housecleaning. I love having a clean house and it bugs me when it's not clean. But I'm trying to get over that. I've been trying to spend more time doing what I like to do as opposed to what I think I should do.

When you got no hair, you make hats.
Knitting is a great thing to do when you don't feel like doing anything else. So I knit this winter during chemo treatments and saved my sanity (barely). Thanks to everyone in the knitting community for their inspiration.
